Emka Envelopes was founded in 1994 as a joint project between the Emka Concern and the German Concern Mayer Kuvert.
The Division was founded as an approved enterprise with the assistance of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and is located in the Sha’ar Hanegev Industrial Park shared by the town of Sderot and the Sha’ar Hanegev Kibbutzes.
The decision to invest in the field of envelopes was as a result of several reasons: firstly, the expansion of the product basket offered by the Concern to its customers, as we supply commercial stationery to many organizations it seems natural to also offer the envelopes for that stationery. The second reason is the accelerated expansion and increase in activity of the Emka Concern in the field of direct mailing, a fact which has turned us into a consumer of millions of envelopes per annum and therefore it seems to us only logical to start production of envelopes for ongoing inter-organizational consumption.
Emka Envelopes was established as a basis for transfer of knowhow and experience from the German partners in the field of envelopes. Teams underwent six month training courses at the plants of the Mayer Kuvert Concern in Germany.
During their training the infrastructure was constructed and the world’s most advanced production equipment for production and printing of a variety of envelopes for office, advertising and automation use.
Emka’s entry into the Israeli envelope market was fast and this since our 1st day of activity we have offered a high European standard and competitive prices. At present Emka exports about 20% of its production to Western Europe and Benelux.
